Five years ago, if somebody told me that I would be a cheerleader, I would have laughed and told them they were crazy. When I was in middle school, I was the definition of a tomboy and believed cheerleading was easy and frivolous. Little did I know that cheerleading would require more mental and physical strength than any other sport I have played and that it would change my life forever. The past four years of my life have truly shaped me into who I am today because of the Saint John Vianney High School cheerleading team. During my high school years I gained more confidence in myself, learned to be more patient, was taught the importance of teamwork, and learned the value of success. Cheerleading is not only a full-time sport at Saint John
