Uh-Oh Cheerio! Cheerios has been a part of everyone’s lives for a long time. Babies and children eat this cereal as breakfast or a snack. This must be healthy because mothers wouldn’t give their children food if it weren’t healthy or safe for them. But these mothers aren’t naïve and just looking at the front of the box, but also the ingredients within the cereal. General Mills has been selling Cheerios for the past 70 years, but consumers have been having the issue of GM ingredients even though the amount is so little. While Cheerios are heart healthy, there are other ingredients that have customers questioning if the other ingredients in the Cheerios are GMO or not. There are nine different flavors and designs to these boxes of Cheerios.

Besides the fact that Cheerios’ leading ingredient is whole grain oats, the other smaller ingredients are starting to get more attention. This article talks about how there has been an awakening to General Mills that their consumers are having an issue with the fact that there are GM ingredients in their cereal.
