Cheer Captain Speeches

A year had passed and my scars over the State loss were beginning to heal. My desire to win over a uniform kept coming back to me and kept me fighting for that position on the squad. When I was in a sophomore year, I finally earned it. Whenever I finally succeeded in making my dream happen, I was a little disappointed. I thought that picking out the uniform with my team or practicing the cheers would bring me pure joy, but that year was far from pleasant.

Our sponsor was the Kindergarten teacher who had a strong passion for working hard. Her name was Melissa Ritter, and she changed the cheerleading program for the better. That year we accomplished more than we had ever dreamed; five dances, full-down stunts, flips and tumbling. We were excellent at what we did, and for the first time I felt like I had really accomplished my dream. I was really a cheerleader thanks to her guidance and encouragement.
As a senior I am about to assume the role of cheer captain. I will be returning to the squad with the same friends I had made throughout all of the tryouts I had suffered through. I have tried so hard to achieve this goal and now I intend to maintain it.
When I put on my glittery makeup, pick up my shimmering pompoms and flash my pretty smile for one last go-around, I’ll keep in mind that there is a little girl in the stands looking at me in awe, and I can’t let her down. It is about supporting each other through the trophies and

She teaches me many things like responsibility, teaching me things and guiding me through them, and how to treat others. Makayla teaches me responsibility through many ways for example, how to keep up with my stuff and to bring everything I need for games and practices. Usually she will text us the night before and tell us what we wear to games and how to do our hair.…

I am now a very outgoing person, and without cheering, I would have never become who I am today. Cheerleading was hard at times, but all it took was practice to become the cheerleader I am today.
