In the story Checkouts by Cynthia Rylant, she explains how some people can fall in love easily. You can also fall out of love even easier. She explains that the girl hates where her parents have moved her. The boy also doesn’t like where he works also. They both help ease the pain of the things they hate. He helped the pain of her moving easier to deal with, and she helped him cope with the pain of his job by taking his mind off of it. They both learn something on this rollercoaster of a story. In the story the girl doesn’t like her “new” life. She hates her house and its history. She was very dramatic when they told her the news. When a certain red head came into the store where he worked at. When he dropped her jar of mayonnaise he had an escape from his job. While he just wanted to get to know her more, she fell in love with him. He waited for her to walk through those electric doors he wanted another chance to be confident again. He finally had an escape from his horrible job.
They both didn’t have to think about the horrible problems that are in their lives at the moment. She may have instantly fell in love, but he just wanted to learn more about. They didn’t see each other for four weeks but they were anticipating when the next time they would see each other. They both had high hopes that they would see each other again. She went to the store but as fate would want it her visits didn’t correspond with his time to bag. One day when she went he was there but she sadly didn’t go to his checkout line.
When he saw her he didn’t instantly fall in love like she did. While she left the store with stars in her eyes he just wanted to learn more about her. He wanted another chance to be confident, he didn’t know that she liked his awkwardness. She wanted to play hard to get, but they didn’t know that within a month they would both move on. She went out with the boy down the street and he got a job at the library where there was loads of fascinating
