During her freshmen year of college she had a history course which required her to write a paper. She wrote it like every student, but her paper specifically caught her professors attention, who in turn would rememeber it a couple of years later. During her junior year, she was required to take another history class, which also required a paper with a similar prompt. Instead of writing a new paper for this new class, she decided to use the exact same one she had used for the other course two years prior. Just like the other professor, her current professor too grew very fond of her paper. So much that he discussed it with a collegue of his. This collegue so happened to be the same history professor from her freshmen year. She was reported to the Academic Honors Council. The council decided she had cheated because even though it was her work she had used an unfair resource to gain an advantage over her classmates. As a consequence she received an F for the course and was forced to wait a full calender year before she could receive her Aggie ring. Like any Aggie, she was dissapointed because this meant waiting even longer to receive her ring. She also had to explain to her parents why she needed to wait another year, when she was supposed to receive her ring at the end of the year. Unfortuantely, like myself I had to explain to my parents why instead of receiving my ring at the start of the fall, I will need to wait until the spring. Her and I, had some unfortunate circumastance that put us in similar situaution . Like her, I 'm using this experience as motivation to keep on working hard and working ethicaly. She was able to turn her collegiate experience in the right direction, she graduated this spring and will begin graduate school in the
