Have you ever accused someone of cheating? Or maybe have you ever been accused of cheating? Many people have accused someone or have been accused themselves. In fact, 41 percent of marriages have had one or both spouses admit to infidelity, and that only includes the people who have actually admitted cheating (Infidelity Statistics). Because many people have different definitions for cheating, cheating can be hard to define. Some people may include looking at another person as cheating, where others think that it is okay to cheat on their partner., Cheating, as defined in the dictionary, is “to be sexually unfaithful; get a little on the side” (“Cheating”). Like I said earlier, it really depends on what the person’s opinion is, and whether they consider something to be cheating or not cheating. I think the obvious things that don’t count as cheating would be similar to kissing your mother, or pretty much any family member. An article states that fully-clothed hug, having attractive friends of the same gender, watching porn and masturbating, as well as still communicating with exes (Grimm). Friendship with exes, or still communicating with exes, can be seem and absurd. But the article clearly stats what would make communicating with exes okay, “As long as you keep it honest, there should be no offense in keeping people around who you used to date” (Grimm). Then everything made sense, if you are friends with an ‘ex’ it won’t become a problem until you make it a problem. What about the other definition of cheating? Some people are open the cheating, where others will see their partner holding their parents hands and freak out. When reading in the dictionary you will read, “act dishonestly or unfairly” which not specific enough to understand (“Cheating”). Some people believe in polygamy, or “practicing or custom of having more than one wife or husband at the same time” (“Polygamy”). This would be a situation where some partners are open to having more than two people in relationships, whether this is right or wrong would determine on your own
