The Pros And Cons Of Cheating

Cheating has been in a lot of schools around the country and is probably happening right now. I do have an issue with this. I do not think that it is fair for people who are cheating to be able to pass a class. They are not doing the work. I also think that cheating and plagiarizing are different things. Cheating is when you use the internet to find answers, or you look at someone else 's paper who is in your class while doing homework or taking a test. Plagiarizing is when you copy something word for word, and you use it on a paper or on an essay. Plagiarizing is worse than cheating because the student is putting no effort into plagiarizing they are just copying. Since the high school teachers do not look at cheating, colleges think that they are smart and accept them. This comes back to being the high school teacher’s fault. When the students who have been cheating in high school then go to college and get caught cheating, they are sometimes kicked out. They do not know how to do their own work without taking it from someone on the internet. Students who really should be in college, do not cheat in high school, often have lower grades because teachers are grading professional papers for the students who cheat. Good students have to compete with cheaters to get into college. As it said in the short article, “it disheartens other students who have to compete with cheaters to get into college.” Colleges should know that most high school students cheat when they do not want to do something. This is both the college’s and the high school’s problem. I think that colleges should have the students write a paper at their college, so they are able to watch them write. This is so the college would be able to tell who has cheated and who has not, so they make the right decision on who to accept to their
