There are about 129,864,880 books in the world at this exact moment. Each book is a different genre. Different genres mean that each book has a subgenre that makes it unique. Books that fall into the fiction category can be various types of fiction such as the so-called mainstream fiction which is romance, science, and mystery. It is a part of human nature to compare oneself to a fictional character. The list of fictional characters that a person can be compared is outstanding which makes it difficult for one to thoroughly compare their own personality to a person that is purely fictional. The Perks of being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky is the novel that the fictional character I am comparing myself to has emerged from. The fictional character is the main character of the story named Charlie; his last name is never revealed for the sake of secrecy.

First off, there are a few significant differences between Charlie and I. I am in fact a female while he is definitely a male. In the story, he is a freshman in high school while at the moment I am indeed a senior in high school. Charlie was molested as a child, yet I was not. I have slight anger management issues while Charlie’s is heightened to the maximum capacity. He can get furious to the point of blacking out. He was bullied to the point of where it should have been a court issue while I was bullied to the point of low self-esteem and it brought out my depression that I hid.
