I went and saw the play “Charoloett’s Webb” on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. In my opinion, the play was spectacular. To start off evalulating the play, I want to ask three questions: What were the performers trying to accomplish, how well did they accomplish their goal, and was it worth doing? I think that the performers were trying to accomplish portraying the characters in the book appropriatly. I think that the spider,(Charolette) the rat, (Templeton) Fern(Wilbur’s friend) her brother Avery, and all of the farm animals/ other characters were accuratly portrayed in the performance when compared to the book’s version. I do believe that the performance was worth doing. There were many compliments that I heard after the show from several people and

The play, Yankee Tavern, by Steven Dietz, published by Dramatists Play Service Inc, was unquestionably some food for thought. All throughout the storyline, numerous conspiracies ranging from starbucks being a cult in a cup to man landing on the moon were woven between the four main characters, Adam, Janet, Ray and Palmer. That being said, perhaps the most prominent of all, were the one’s related to the terrorist attack on the United States on September 11, 2001. Needless to say, that was probably a touchy subject to write so in detailed about. Nonetheless, Dietz crafted the plotline in a very elegant and perhaps informative manner.…

Caroline works for the Gallman's, and in the house, she befriends Noah, a young boy who recently lost his mother to cancer. The play focuses on two aspects of change: pocket change and the literal idea of change. In an attempt to get Noah to stop leaving pocket change in his clothes, Noah’s new stepmother, Rose, allows Caroline to keep any of the change left in his clothes. However, when Noah ends up leaving a 20 dollar bill, an argument between the two erupts causing Caroline to leave the house for several days.…

Overall the play of Quartet was comedic, perverted and sometimes formal. It also kept the audience going with witty remarks that some of the audience could connect to. Quartet showed tension, human context and realism throughout that helped convey dramatic meaning of the play which meant growing old doesn’t mean having to grow up. The actors portrayed their characters well and made everyone feel like they were actually these characters.…

Joseph Cornell was an artist known for his shadow box art. He kept his interests separate and together by creating these boxes which also reflected the small wooden house in which he lived. The script is made of compartments rather than having one event trigger another. A character may come into a scene or Cornell may move out of a scene and the scene completely changes. It is not always clear if the stage directions are to only be followed or if some are to be read.…

I was fortunate enough to be able to attend a production of ''The Diviners,'' on Sunday, March the Nineteenth. The performance was put on by the Calhoun Community College theatre department. The play was staged in the black box theatre of The Alabama Center for the Arts in Decatur, Alabama. It was an impressive performance especially when considering the size and arrangement of the stage. Even with such limitations, the cast were able to turn the stage into a window into prohibition era Indiana.…

In the Last Night of the ballyhoo play by Alfred Uhry, the whole production of the play was beyond magnificent for a first-time student who has never attended a play before. The different scenes and stage production was very up to par and the characters were very outstanding. There are a few complaints I would like to critique to make the production kind of more valuable but overall, I enjoyed the play tremendously. Starting off, each character plays a significant role in the production theme. Characters personalities were a main key point that mostly helped to create the genre of the play.…
