Charlotte's Web Essay

The title of my novel is Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White. The novel has 184 pages, and the name of the publisher is a company named Harper and Brothers. Charlotte’s Web is the best-selling children’s paperback of all time. The best-seller was published in 1952, and no changes have been made to the book despite criticism due to the books ending being to doleful. The motivation on why I chose this book is because of its friendly atmosphere that the novel presents to the reader, and furthermore, the reader also gets to witness the bonding between animals and also man.
The main characters in a story set the foundation of it, and these are the main characters of Charlotte’s Web. Fern, Fern is a completely loving and innocent soul who saves a little piglets life by arguing with her father stating that a small piglet has just as much right to live than a large piglet. Fern is also enchanted by life at the Zuckerman’s barn and enjoys listening to Charlotte’s stories and spending time with the animals there. Charlotte is a practical, beautiful, skilled and unsentimental little creature. Charlotte is clever and loyal to her friends, making sure nobody hurts them. Charlotte’s love for Wilber pushes her

The good point in the story is some might not know but the story was inspired by E.B. Whites life. E.B grew up on the farm and also saw Charlotte, the spider, himself. The weak points in the story is that the author could have elaborated more on Fern’s life and her maturity as she progressed through the film. I learned that you might be the littlest runt in the pact, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t people out there to help and be there for you. I defiantly recommend this book to anyone who likes a story of courageousness and heart with a little bit of humor along the

As time on the Seahawk passes by, she realizes what hardworking men the crew is, unlike the scum she thought they were before. Charlotte’s inner feelings about the crew have changed pretty immensely. As stated in the book, Charlotte says,”But as I grew more comfortable, the crew grew more comfortable with me, and I mingled more often on the deck with them.” This quote shows that when she got to socialize with the men more, she started to admire their experience and hard work even more, instead of judging their facial appearances. “The rat had no morals, no conscience, no scruples, no consideration, no decency, no milk of rodent kindness, no compunctions, no higher feeling, no friendliness, no anything” (pg.46). The character of Templeton the Rat in Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White, serves as representation of the dark, evil, immoral side of human nature within the earnest, kind and friendly community of the barn in order to portray both sides of human nature. By including a character such as Templeton in this community, it illustrates the idea that everyone has the characteristics of Templeton and the other barn animals inside oneself, but what matter’s most is not whether or not you have them, but rather to what degree you act upon them. By having Templeton evolve as…

I related to an experience in this book when The Bone thought he wasn’t good enough but he needed to try really hard to achieve his goal. I read about half the book before I watched the lectures on child development and was able to apply that to what I had already read, and finish the book through the lens of development. Additionally, I work with kids regularly and was able to see their behavior reflected in the lectures, and through the characters. As a child I always related to Wilbur or Fern, and saw myself in them. However, I saw myself more in Charlotte, as she cares for Wilburn and is a mother figure to many of the animals in the barn. I was able to see and understand the little lessons through the book, when Wilburn learns new words, the characters understanding the world around them.…

Woll also demonstrates that the well-known authors or authors with celebrity status are able to gain visibility in the marketplace. (Woll, 2014, p22) I will focus my research on the reputation of the author of my book and the close connection between the author herself or himself and the topic of the book.…

Authors have many variations to highlight the themes in their stories. In the story “A Sound of Thunder” writer Ray Bradbury talks about a guy named Eckles who travels back in time to kill a dinosaur, but things don’t end up going as planned. He shows how the slightest things can change time if directions aren’t followed thoroughly. Bradbury connects everything tactically and supports the theme by using characters, settings and the sound of thunder.…
