Charlotte's Web By E. B White: Character Analysis

Charlotte’s Web by E.B White is a great book for filled with a vast imagination. The book focuses on morals, friendships, love, and seasons. Fern’s love for Wilbur is what save the pig that was no good in everyone else’s eyes. She took him under her wings and took care of him, they became very good friends and were inseparable for a while. We then see more characters that reader are captivated by when Wilbur moves to Mr. Zuckerman’s barn. All the animals in Mr. Zuckerman’s are all personified by White but one thing that stays true to each animal is they all have characteristics of their species. For instance, Templeton, he’s a rat that lives under Wilbur’s through. Although he does no harm, all the other animals don’t exactly trust him in …show more content…
But in Charlotte’s Web, White creates a spider character that’s hard not to like. By the end of the book, most readers have fallen in love with this Charlotte character. Charlotte becomes friends with Wilbur forming a loving bond. When the characters learn that Wilbur is destined to die once winter rolls around. Charlotte comes up with a clever plan to makes everyone view Wilbur as an extraordinary pig. Charlotte creates webs with words in them: “Some pig, terrific, radiant, and humble.” With these four words, Charlotte single handed saves Wilbur’s …show more content…
It also gave people a sense of hope in the book. Without the web, Wilbur would have been doomed to end up on someone’s dinner table, Charlotte would have lost a friend, and cycle of pigs on the barn would have went on without a hitch. By having hope, the animals were able to team up together and fight the cycle and save a friend. The web gave people significance, Ferns parents, aunt, and uncle are now owners of a terrific pig. That’s something to look up to in the story, they were no longer normal farmers in town. They are the farmer’s that raised a humble pig who’s catching a lot of attention that they profited from. Hope is what people and animals needed and that’s what the web gave
