Charlie Parker

The jazz musician charlie parker was born on August 29,1920 in kansas city. His father was an african american stage entertainer and his more Addie was a maid chair woman of a native heritage. As an only child charlie moved with his parents to kansas city, missouri he was seven years old. At that time the city was lively center for african american music including jazz and the blues and some gospel charlie was always around music as a kid because of of the town he lived in they always played music and got involved with it. Charlie discovered his own talent for music through taking lessons at a public school. When charlie was a teen he played the baritone horn in the school band. When charlie was 15 the alto saxophone was his instrument of choice. Charlie's dad abandon the family so his mother got him a saxophone to cheer him up alittle. When charlie was in school he charlie started playing with bands on the local club scene. In 1935 he decided to drop out of school in pursuit of a full time musical career. Parker also signed with a few different record labels station charlie parker recorded for the savoy records before signing with mercury. When a bunch of musicians saw burgeoning jazz perform they were really impressed with charlie's performance because of his unique playing style. Later in 1942 he signed with Earl hines to do a eight month gig. In 1945 charlie finley became the letter of a group but he still was performing with dilly gillespie. The end of that year both of them launched a 6 week hollywood tour while working together they managed to invent an entirely new style of jazz it was known as bebop. While parker stayed in Los angeles to perform till the end of the summer. After being hospitalization, he returned to New york in january and made one of his best songs called cool
