And neither do you need false optimism and words of comfort that blinds you up. A mentor of mine once told me, ‘Optimism is the reason entrepreneurs start businesses and reality is why they close them.’ All you need now is a strong and sensible reality check.
Jobs in one of the internal meetings supposedly said, “ We don’t need new ways to fail…the old ones are working just fine!’. Rings a bell. The last attempt, you might have started off your prep late in the last couple of months. Or you might have started to study with your bestie. Or something else. If that turned out to be a mistake, good for you, now you know what doesn’t work. What you need to do is recognize the patterns that are causing those mistakes and never go back to doing them again. After all, failing the same way is twice as heavy as otherwise. And developing a Tunnel View about things is what has actually dragged many people down. People that I personally know.
