Charlie Gordon's Major Brain Surgery

Improved Essays
Has it ever occurred to you how far along we are in the study of the human brain? Throughout this story, Charlie Gordon takes on a major brain surgery that provides to him a great deal of intelligence, but for only a short amount of time. I believe that this procedure benefitted Charlie greatly, let me explain why.
To start, what was Charlie like before this operation? Though he was a great guy, worked hard and was dedicated to his learning, two colleagues were constantly laughing at the poor guy. Charlie never even knew it. Many people respected Charlie for who he was despite his obvious downfalls. With an I.Q(intelligence quotient) score of 68, he was far from smart. Aside from minor sadness here and there, Charlie was not near depressed.
