Charles H. Odom was born on February 29th, 1932 in Arlington Kansas in Reno County. He was the son of Barney E. Odom and Mildred R. Odom. He was 32 when he died via gas chamber on March 6th, 1964. He was arrested on July 23rd, 1961 for the rape of a thirteen year old girl, Lisa Schuh. He was a resident of Wellington, Kansas. It was around 4 o’clock in the evening when Odom kidnapped Lisa at gunpoint in Joplin, Missouri. The Wichita resident was visiting her grandmother in Joplin, Missouri and was walking her dog when Odom stopped his 1956 Chevrolet automobile. HE pulled a gun on her and threw her and the dog into the vehicle and drove off. Two people saw it and one managed to get his license plate number. A short while later he was seen northwest
