“You know, a long time ago being crazy meant something. Nowadays everybody 's crazy.” Do you know about Charles Manson, and do you know about the crimes he committed? “Charles Manson is an American cult leader whose followers carried out several notorious murders in the late 1960s”(bio). He became the most infamous figures in criminal history. He committed many crimes. He was arrested and had a trial. Was he convicted or not, did he pay for his crimes?
How did he become the most infamous figure in criminal history? Three of his main crimes were the Hinman murder, the Tate murder, and LaBianca murder. The Hinman murder was only because Manson needed money, Hinman was Mason’s friend. Manson had sent Bobby Beausoleil, Mary Brunner, and Susan Atkins to go persuade Hinman to give them money. When Hinman was uncooperative he was held hostage. “After a few days Manson went over with a sword and slashed Hinman’s left ear” (Crime Library). After a while Beausoleil stabbed him twice in the chest. “They used Hinman’s blood to smear the words “Political piggy” on the wall along with” (Crime library). “On August 9, 1969 Sharon Tate, her unborn child, Abigail Folger, Wojciech Frykowski, and Jay Sebring were murdered” (Crime library). Tate’s neighbors claimed to have heard gunshots and a man’s screams but never notified the authorities. A private security had also heard the gunshots and he proceeded to call the authorities. “Early the next morning the at 8:00 am the housekeeper found the brutally murdered bodies” (Crime library). According to the book Helter Skelter, manson had ordered Charles Watson, Susan Atkins, Linda Kasabian, and Patricia Krenwinkel to go to the Tate’s home. “He had ordered them to go in and to kill everyone inside of the home.
