Republican billionaire and donor Charles Koch of Koch industries has been reportedly given George Mason University about $48 million between 2011 and 2014.According to a Yahoo Finance report, the public school located outside Washington DC has quietly become a new conservative bastion for economics and law. Tax records indicate that that Charles Koch gives nearly $20 million to hundreds of schools in the US. In 2014, the foundation gave George Mason $16.8 million to fund the schools Humane Studies division.

This amount was 30% of all donations the school received from private donors. A report by The Council for Aid to Education reported that George Mason received a total of $44.6 million in fiscal contributions
