Everyone should have the freedom to his or her beliefs.They shouldn’t have the ideology of others forced on to them, them being young students. Religion shouldn’t be taught in public schools because it would cause too much controversy. The teachers of these public schools would only be able to teach effectively their students about their religion, which would count as them deliberately forcing their beliefs on others. Since there are more than four-thousand religions in the world, it would be physically impossible to teach students an equal amount of each religion without teachers implementing their beliefs. Children and teenagers have very impressionable minds; they have yet to develop fully critical and evaluative thinking skills. Dr. Margaret Hill, director of the Services Association and the first Amendment Center stated, “Conflicts arise quickly because the U.S. is not only the most religiously diverse but also the most religiously observant industrial country in the world. This exploding pluralism of belief contributes to bitter culture wars.
