Charles Darwin Research Paper

Charles Darwin did not originate the theory of evolution, but he did corroborate the theory by giving a detailed explanation of the process of evolution. As Darwin believed it, evolution was the tendency of a certain organism to increase rapidly over time while retaining traits favorable to their survival (Fiero, Gloria, 3). From this belief Darwin stemmed the idea of survival of the fittest, the adverse traits of certain species adapting over time to be more suited to the life and reproduction of that specie. Darwin’s theory did not deny the existence of God like many people believe. He challenged the view that God created the world in seven days and that God brought into existence a fixed number of species. Darwin also implied that natural selection governed the evolutionary process, not God’s divine will. Darwin’s belief is that the world is constantly changing and started over 10 billion years ago and that creation is still in progress.
