Throughout the culture of western civilization, science and politics have been through a lot of ups and downs, just because people were not quite sure, what their purpose was. However, these subjects also have been consistently two of the most important and helpful subjects because they helped define and marked an era, where the human race was uneducated of its surroundings. Thanks to several scientists and political philosopher such as Charles Darwin and John Locke, today the human race has completely changed the way that it looks at the world. However, The Origins of Species is considered the root of modern biology because it explained how the human race has evolved over time. This book explains how all the species have evolved and changed over time, including the human race. This book is mainly based on a trip that Darwin took, when he went to the Galapagos Island. Over there, Darwin started to observe different species native to the islands. Darwin realized that the species were unique to the island, but with some similarities in the way they look physically, Darwin also noticed that each species was perfectly adapted to its environment. One of the most famous species that Darwin studied was finches, which he noticed depending on the location on the island the finches’ beaks were different in size and shape. This study later helped Darwin concluded that the finches had a common ancestor. Since Locke was very young, he was around politics because his father was a lawyer and a member of parliamentarian side of the English Civil War. Locked studied medicine and after he graduated, he started writing about his political beliefs and how people should treat each other. A lot of Locke’s published work considered an innovation on how the government should treat their people, which is why most of his work has influenced a lot on how people view politics. One of Locke‘s famous works is Second Treatise On Civil Government, in this written work Locke discussed the idea of the natural rights in the state of nature.
