Charisma of Leadership and Team-Building Capabilities

“How can your MBA studies be managed to develop leadership and team-building capabilities?”

For this question, I have to say that probably everyone MBA candidate has been asked by this question from others. The capabilities of team building and leadership are the most precious abilities that god given to humans. The man who has the strong leadership and team building capabilities will win respect and affection from others and acquire personal achievements.

In my opinion, I think MBA studies can develop the leadership and team building capabilities through several ways:

It is clear that what separates great leaders from a simple manager has more to do with such qualities as communications ability, vision, creative power an understanding of personal behavior, and personal characteristics. However, such concepts are all too often neglected in traditional courses, whereas they are the basic stuff of the liberal arts and humanities. In MBA studies, most of our course has the group assignment or project, and group assignments in a cooperative learning environment can develop the leadership and team building capabilities. Group assignments or projects are dramatically different from the individual, competition-based learning experiences that typify much of traditional education. Although we may frequently work together before we go to MBA studies, we are not actually learning together in the team environment. In a well team oriented environment we work together to maximize both our own work effectiveness and the work effectiveness of the other group members. Group assignment or project can improves the abilities to remember others, to understand others, and to accept others. A man refuse to make cooperation with others will be punished by the grade, and other team members should do their best to fix this problem. Because the course grades are determined by a combination of team grades, and all members of the group receive the same grade for the performance in the group assignments or projects. Especially, if the group were paired at random or designated, the help of improve our leadership while developing essential teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.
