In order to become a good leader one must have confidence, determination, as well as many other traits, but most importantly a leader must have charisma. Charisma is when someone has charm an example of someone with charm or charisma is James Bond. Someone that is suave and has a way with words, but most importantly. This is the reason that Jack is able to come out victorious against Ralph because Jack is able to get the rest of the boys to rally behind them to basically build an army against Ralph in order to beat him. Lucky for Ralph he is rescued just in time. A leader must have charisma because people are more inclined to follow someone with more charm, someone that is confident, and someone that is able to communicate effectively.

He was able to easily make a point and get everyone on the same page. Other people dance around what they want because it is “polite” but Jack has an objective and he goes for it dominance over the island, sure he will try anything humanly possible to get that go so far as to try and burn Ralph. He is able to use these communication skills make things seem like something else. He uses rhetorical language to twist Ralph’s words like in this meeting called by Jack just for the reason of getting the other boys to hate Ralph and turn on him, “He’s not a hunter. He’d never have got us meat. He isn’t a prefect and we don’t know anything about him. He just gives orders and expects people to obey for nothing. All this talk—”(Goulding 148). After this they have another poll on who should be leader Jack or Ralph and no one votes for anyone. That’s when he makes his own tribe and start to dominate the island truly.
