Charged Ride Research Paper

Charged Ride My friend Tyler and I drove to Stowe, Vermont. This drive was an exhilarating experience for many reasons. Most certainly not an experience I will soon forget. We left in the early morning, or should I say the middle of the night. Both of us tired from barely being able to sleep from our current state of exuberance, but not slowed due to excitement and energy drinks. As soon as we opened my front door we were bombarded with cold northern air and snow gently falling as if to a childhood lullaby. The sound of our sneakers squeaking in the firmly packed cold was music to my ears. The smell of the outdoors was more a feeling of pain than a distinct smell, like fire going through your nostrils and straight to your lungs

The neighborhood was noiseless, and the sky was pitch black, for there had been no moon on that summer morning in June. My mother and father started our car and waited for Sofia,my sister, sean ,my friend, and me to get inside. It was time to leave our dull suburban home in San Jose, and drive to the beloved National Park, Yosemite, to hike Half Dome. On the car ride there I had slept, but awoke right when we had gotten into the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Looking outside of the window and noticing all of the evergreen trees was surreal for me, as I rolled down my window a strong smell of pine and fresh air poured into the car.…

The Issue Regarding 348 Ride Many parents have been coaxed by the university into believing that students always will have a safe way to get home after a long night at the library or a night spent on the strip. Little do they know, 348 Ride which is supposed to be a reliable source of transportation isn’t the slightest bit reliable. Students get hung up on, yelled at or flat out ignored by these drivers hired by the university to come pick students up and get them to where they need to be. As more students ride 348-RIDE, more complaints arise about the safe ride that they are promised.…

The day is April 5th, 1892, for one day short of a fortnight I have remained ensnared within this dreary cabin, caring for my ailing son, Torsten. Much time has passed, devoid of signs of improvement. I have then come to the apprehensive conclusion that I must voyage to the towns to gather medicinal supplies. My only concern is whether Torsten can persist awaiting my arrival, only time will tell. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to venture out into the forest to embark on my thirty-mile trek to civilization.…

I saw the ball going low and outside at about 91 mph. I shuffled over, but not quickly enough as the ball caught me right where I did not have padding. I felt the bone dance out of place like a ballerina. I laid there, rolling in agony. After a few seconds the bone shifted back into place and I was yelling in pain.…

It was a humid and quiet day with my dad. Sitting in the woods waiting for one thing and only one thing. The only thing to hear for miles was the wind whistling in your ear as it passed. It was the last wednesday of the month, November 29, 2016. The second day of rifle season at the same time the last day of rifle season.…

Gray-Stoned Beach I walked along the quiet, winding trail; the smell of a thousand pines filling my nose. There were no people here due to the light rain, but it didn't bother me. It was peaceful. I turned a sharp corner, immediately greeted by a blast of icy ocean air. The Pacific Ocean roared with power in front of me, white caps crashing against the high walls of rock.…

My legs ached. The crisp November air bit at my nose as well as my toes, I had missed my bus, and had to walk all the way home as a result of it. I was about half of the way home, and had already trudged on and on for about an hour. I caught a glimpse of a bench about fifty feet away and decided to indulge in a much deserved rest. Walking up to the bench I took a moment to examine my surroundings.…

I sat there, in the deep snow, drawing my sound map. My eyes were closed, using my every ounce of strength to listen for even the smallest sounds. The whispering trees melodic wind, the creaking ice which covered so much of the winding river that ran through the riparian area on my map. When I was done, I laid down, acknowledging nature 's picturesque sky and landscape. The beautiful baby blue sky enveloped me with it’s gentle appeal while the tops of Aspen trees forced it’s barren branches into it, pushing with force to grow higher, stronger, and to gain power.…

A frigid gust of air ripped through the land, causing little ice crystals to flicker under a ray of escaping sunlight. A snowstorm is coming, and the cold is as palpable as the snow beneath my feet. Up ahead, there was nothing to see. The fog and the bitter air had limited my line of sight to zero, it was like trying to see through water: Ripples and reflection. All I can hear is the sound of my heart beating inside my numb chest and the echo of my breathing: restrained and harsh.…

It’s a chilly winter-spring morning, March 26, 2014. I walk down the stone stairs and look out the glass door of my Bubbe and Zeddie’s house, and see the misty air, and the trees blowing slowly side to side. It reminds me of myself after I get off of a roller coaster at Knott 's Berry Farm. I smell the fresh scent of the morning in my nostrils. It cools them, though they are already cold, from the air conditioning.…

I decided to walk today. With a cold breeze like this I’d normally take the bus. I guess the cold air just felt different today. I retreat from the sidewalk to a slightly over grown path; it feels good to get away from the city streets, even if it’s only a couple dozen feet on the other side of a few trees. The path leads to a field.…
