Essay On Gary Sinise

Decent Essays
Gary Sinise did a great job bringing the book Of Mice and Men to theaters. He gave each character a different personality and did great as playing George. Gary Sinise did everything that a five star movie needs to have and had other things in the movie which made the movie so great.
The hook in the movie was good and had a very suspenseful tone to the scenes. The hook starts of by showing a girl in a red dress running. From reading the book we know that Lennie grabbed onto her dress and wouldn't let go so she screamed and ran away. The director did a good job on showing how they escaped and the way they did it. The sound in the hook was very suspenseful and upbeat which showed how well the director did when trying to keep people wondering if the would get caught or not. The sound throughout the movie was good and the director did a good job on putting certain songs at certain times. For example, when Candy's dog got

After reading the book, the movie was very predictable and there were only a few changes. One major change in the movie was the end scene. When George as going to shoot Lennie in the movie he did it very quickly and didn't think about it a lot. Another big thing that changed in the story is that after George shot Lennie instead of the rest of the guys coming to see him dead, George is thinking of a flashback of the two of them walking and laughing. I thought that this was a better ending than in the book because it shows how hard it is for George to kill Lennie and although they fight a lot Lennie is George's best friend. The big ideas in the movie and book are both the same. One big idea that occurs in the movie is the american dream. The american dream occurs because Lennie and George have been talking about there own ranch and there own chickens, rabbits, and alfalfa. This occurs in both the movie and the book and is talked about a lot through

The movie added many new things to the script that were not originally in the book. One thing they added was the addition of flashbacks. In the movie, the script writers gave George flashbacks of when his son Harrison was taken away, which was a feature not implemented in the story. Another feature they added into the…

One major aspect of the movie that differs from the book would have to be the color revelation. The color revolution was caused when an oval decided to color its inside red. Lastly, Lennie gets in a fight with Curley; Curley’s hand gets busted and the boys agree to tell everyone he got it caught in a machine instead of the true fact that he got beat up by Lennie, in exchange for Curley not getting them fired. The movie and book contain many differences as well, but not many lead to larger, different outcomes. One difference is that George and…

A few important character connections and details were in the book that were left out in the movie. In the book, for example, Kim and Mia’s relationship wasn’t as detailed in the movie. It didn’t show their fight like it did in the book and all of their childhood between the two seemed to be missing from the movie. Mia and Kim had some important things that occurred in their childhood which I thought was important and should have been included in the movie. Her grandparents also weren’t in the movie as much as they were in the book.…

There are many differences occurred in the book and the movie of A Wrinkle In Time and And Then There Were None. I believe the director changed the movie so the viewers would understand it more and so the movie won’t be 5-6 hours long. I also think that they changed it is so people would understand it more, and some of the things in the book were hard to actually do in real life and in the time the movies were produced. There are many differences between the book and movie of A Wrinkle In Time.…

Every story has protagonists choosing between moral issues- issues of right and wrong. Their choice depicts the series of events that take place through out the story. The film and story we experienced in class were some of the first stories to use these themes. They use them similarly and differently making both of these stories great and unique in their own way. In the novel The Most Dangerous Game written by Richard Connell a world class hunter experiences getting hunted after washing up on an island.…

Well in the movie it went from Ender getting his team to them having to fight two people at once. The progression in the movie was terrible and didn’t explain anything. One other difference with the book and the movie was the view of the outside world and how it changed why Ender was in the school. In the book Ender was in the school without communication to his family or anyone, so in the book it showed us what was happening why he was away and how Valentine and Peter changed.…

Of Mice and Men is a story about two men, one of them mentally handicapped, trying to make money during the Great Depression The story and the film properly portray how a relationship can be when one member of the relationship greatly depends on the other person. And although Lennie was very dependent on George, that aspect helped form George and Lennie 's relationship. I love the book Of Mice and Men. The story of mice and men is not a long book, but in a short amount of time John Steinbeck adds lots of layers to the characters which help form your perspective of them. When Steinbeck was writing, he used a lot of tiny details to build the characters ' personalities.…

Ironically due to the storyline; the book is better than the movie, because it is shows better description, character analysis, and it gets the point across to the reader to show what leads up to the main idea. The Holocaust, was without a doubt one of the most tragic events in mankind 's history. Many books and movies have been able to tell the stories that took place during the holocaust but some writers like Elie Wiesel and Roberto Beninin are able to transcend into the the time and make us feel real emotions. These pieces of work descended us into a larger understanding of what the term “The Holocaust” really means. Elizer Wiesel’s memoir ‘Night’ revealed the what times were like before the tragedy and then. The memoir, describes in grave detail about Eliezer and his father 's struggle between sanity and insanity, and whether to give up or to keep going.…

In “The Landlady”, Billy Weaver is lured into a seemingly normal bed and breakfast by an old lady who, despite her gentle and unthreatening appearance, wants to kill him. It is a story about how those with cruel intent may take advantage of those who are innocent and naive. Although the book and the movie can be arguably similar if generalized, there are many differences that may change the way a reader/viewer may grasp the concept of the story. Since a movie and book cannot be exactly the same, the film version is bound to have things that differ from the text. One example of how the book develops the development of the story is with the setting.…

It seems an unfair view to expect a movie about a book to be exactly the same down to every single detail. Communities of fans will always find something wrong with a story, for it has “failed” to match expectation. Books are a place where someone can be dragged into the story and forget about everything else for a short while. Movies do the exact same thing, except it is seen as an easier way than books for a lot of people. Ignoring obvious differences (such as the fact that one is in picture form, and the other is in words), movies and books may not be so different after all.…
