Characterization, Conflict, And Narration In 'The Interlopers'

Essay #1; Life and Literature Have you ever wondered how life and literature are connected? We make our own choices just like characters in a story. In my opinion, we are just like characters in a book, we both make our own decisions. In life we also narrate because we are stuck in our own perspective. Life and literature are connected through characterization, conflict, and narration because we are our own author, when we characterize people and narrate going through life and conflict.
Rainbow Rowell indirectly characterizes Eleanor in Eleanor and Park by showing her thought and feelings. Eleanor is a tall chunky girl with big red curly hair. She is very insecure and is impacted by what others think and say about her. Especially as the new girl it’s hard to be accepted by others, just like anytime I enter a new school year. Eleanor always questioned herself “God how bad did she usually look?” Eleanor thought. Everyday I always question myself

When both men pointed the gun at each other they both thought “ murder uppermost in mind.” Both men hated each other, they grew up being thought from a certain perspective and they believe in what has been thought to them. I grew up being thought things a certain way, and if people do things differently, it may seem wrong because i’m stuck in my own first person perspective. Later in the story one man says “ I will ask you to be my friend.” This changes the perspective of both men, if they were to become friends they might as well do it before they die. In life we are stuck in first person perspective but we can change our point of view in both life and literature if we just listen to other ideas. To conclude life and narration are connected because we live in our own first person perspective and we can learn to see thing through other people’s perspective just not know their
