The characteristics of leaders are six, and they are nationalism, perception of control, need for power, need for affiliation, conceptual complexity and distrust of others, and these characteristics have meant something to leaders. Nationalism means the leader has strong feelings toward his nation. Perception of control defined as the leader ability to control events and situations. Also, this perception of control applied when governments try to influence states and nations. Leaders like states in nature need to maintain their power to influence others. Individuals in politics always affiliate themselves with a group or party, by maintaining relations with others. Somehow, leaders are easily to discuss with like give them ideas regarding polices in a good manner, but other are hard, because their level of conceptual complexity. These groups share the same personality characteristics of leaders aforementioned with the difference on the level of the character. The first group, are independent leaders who have high levels in nationalism, perception of control, need for power, distrust of others and low level in conceptual complexity. In addition, independent leader works alone. The second group, are participatory leaders who have low levels in nationalism, perception of control and distrust of others. In addition, participatory leaders have high levels in need for affiliation and conceptual complexity. The nature of participatory leaders in work is that they work in teams rather than alone. Depending on the strength of the leaders belief system; the perceptions that are based on past experience, interaction and thought, decision are made.
