Last year, I was passive during my biology class. I was assigned to do a group project with two other students who only talked and did none of the work. Instead of asking them to help or telling the teacher I just did all the work myself in order to get a good grade. I was being passive because I just allowed this to happen without doing anything about it. Often characters in stories are also passive. Greg from “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl” and the narrator from “The Bass, The River, and Sheila Mant” are two examples of this characteristic.
