What is an entrepreneur? A person who organizes, operates, and take on the financial risk of a business is an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs must be self-motivated as well as have characteristics such as passion, risk-taking, and knowledge to be successful (Goodman). In the beginning, entrepreneurship was once a male dominated field, however, many things have changed in the last few decades. Today, more women are breaking free from the traditional, gender-specific roles and venturing into the business world. Not only are they holding high corporate positions but they are also successful entrepreneurs whom also own almost half of all businesses in the United States (Goodman). Both women and me believe that their occupational experience has provided them with the practical expertise. They can perform their business activities such as the ability to build relationships with clients and suppliers, intuition, and perspective. At the same time, the experience they acquire leaves them more self-confident, more flexible, more tolerant and more careful (Pollard, Farrington). It was determined that women behave differently from their male counterparts, namely how they perform their managerial functions. Women business owners does adopt a managerial style based on social and cultural values compared to men. Influence of the gender variable in the managerial styles of men and women has been harshly criticized repeatedly by authors (Pollard, Farrington). Although it is true to say that the socialization has a significant impact on the behavior of individuals, it does not imply that all women have acquired the same values, sexual stereotypes, and will developed the same management
