1. I have interviewed Shawn Hooker he is my General Manager. He managed AM/PM Restoration Company; which is a 24/7 company that handles water loss, fire damages, mold removal and reconstruction. Shawn has been with the company for six years. He started as a technician and worked his way into becoming a General Manager to serve people. His career is demanding because he supervises employees and maintains customers ' satisfaction. He manages all the restoration projects by directing all the field activities and all in-house inquiries. Shawn is a great leader because of his personality, his vision for other’s to succeed and how he inspires trust to his employees. Shawn has proven that his commitment, hard work, and sacrifices have led him to lead this successful company. I have chosen him for this presentation because he is teaching my coworkers and me how to become servant leaders.

2. The most important qualities of an effective leader are trustworthy, committed to serving others and are a good communicator. Shawn explained to me that to succeed

Leaders are committed to listening to other paying close attention to understand what the body, spirit and mind are communicating. The most successful servant-leaders are those who have become skilled listeners in accepting people for whom they are. Also, leaders understand the power the healing oneself and others. Leaders provide awareness and self-awareness to people for solving issues involving ethics and values. In addition, servant leaders should trust on persuasion, instead of their power, when making decisions within an organization. Leaders look at problems from a conceptualizing perspective which focused on the daily issues that can be resolved based on theoretical philosophy.
