And while these are a very important part of the human being, these things alone don’t define us as human. For it is not our blood or bones, or even the ability to feel emotions such as love, that defines someone as a human, but it is the combination of these things paired with the ability to execute complex brain functions that sets humans apart from other organisms and defines someone as a human being. As humans, we communicate in many different ways through speaking, writing, and now over the internet. Additionally, within those different ways of communication we have multiple different languages. This all traces back to the way human brain are structured. The human brain allows for this intricate way of thinking that allows humans to communicate on a whole other level compared to other animals. Now, animals do communicate, however, they don’t communicate on the level that humans do. All dogs bark, all birds tweet, but humans have hundred of different languages each with unique characteristics. On top of that, humans also have the capability to read and write. No other organism has the ability to write out their thoughts or to read instructions on how to do something. Other animals are simply born with the ability to communicate, yet humans are taught to articulate different words in different languages. It is because of these words that we are able to communicate feelings. It is because of the ability to read, and write that there are great works of literature such as Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings. These books have brought countless people joy all because the human brain has the capability to communicate across languages which no other animal has. Because of the ability to communicate, we are able to build great relationships with people from all walks of life, and have conversations all across the globe. The human brain's capability of communication allows for people to have families from all corners of the Earth.
