Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) was developed by mother-daughter duo Katharine Cook Briggs and Isabel Myers. They wanted everyone to be able to understand their own personality types as well as others. When they were introduced to Jung’s (C. G. Jung was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist who founded analytical psychology) (6) ideas in 1923, they believed his ideas were so powerful and they could help everyone make better life choices. Extraverts typically feel comfortable in groups, which introverts usually feel more comfortable being alone and doing things by themselves. Just because you are an extravert doesn’t mean that you can’t take a break and want to be more of an introvert from time to time. It just means that overall you are more of an extravert than introvert. Someone that is a sensor will be paying attention to their actual senses (see, hear, touch, etc.), where someone that is intuitive will be paying attention to impressions. Sensors are more practical where people who are intuitive are more hands on. Sensors will pay more attention to facts where intuitive people will pay more attention to different possibilities. A thinker is someone who analyzes and uses logic, a feeler is when someone takes what people care about into consideration before making a decision. A feeler will tend to better communicate with people, where a thinker would rather be scientific and technical. For being an ENFP this is very true. I personally have done almost everything I’ve said I ever would. I went to school for cosmetology teaching/salon management. The reason I didn’t like the teaching part is because I felt not all the students cared as much as I did. I felt that they were only there because they thought it was going to be easy. I’m also an artist, I went to special effects makeup school. Art is my true passion, I wish I had more time to dedicate to working on art. Now I want to move onto more of a science, I want to become a Dermatology Physician Assistant. It’s still the beauty industry that I love, it’s just the medical side. I want to help people more than just “cutting hair”, I want to make them feel beautiful inside and out. I also hope to one day inspire others to always follow their dreams and never give up.
