ENTJ Characteristics

1). The Myers and Briggs personality type that I have is an ENTJ. This personality type describes many leaders, and people that are able to project authority. The occupation that I am going to be focusing on is of a Police Officer. People with an ENTJ personality type are very driven, and this is very important for Police Officers. When you are a police officer, you cannot be timid, and you have to be able to be in charge. Another major quality of an ENTJ personality is being an extrovert, which means you need to be able to have strong social relationships. Interacting with people is a main part of being a Police Officer, as you need to be able to communicate efficiently with people. I believe that being an ENTJ personality type will help …show more content…
Work values are a very important aspect of career planning- My work values are; Honesty, Respect, Leadership, and Teamwork. While there are other aspects that are important to me, I value these the most. Honesty and Respect are some of the most important values that a Police Officer needs to have while working. Being honest to Supervisors and respectful to the community is vital. If an officer does not have respect for the community, themselves, or other officers, there is no way the job can be done with integrity. There needs to be equality and respect between all groups for there to be peace. Community Policing is something I have been focusing on a lot, because my values and career choice are both impacted by this. The next value that I chose is balance. I believe that in any career there needs to be balance. There needs to be balance between home life, work, and personal time. If someone works too much, there will never be time for anything else. This can make someone very depressed, and then to start hating their job. Leadership is also a very important value because without a strong leader, there cannot be unity among employees and management. A manager needs to realize they are not better than a lower employee, and they should be treated with respect. Teamwork is my final work value, something that I really work hard to achieve. At my current workplace, there needs to be teamwork for the place to be run smoothly. There has been drama between staff members before, …show more content…
I believe that this career is in line with my occupational goals, and I hope to make it a reality in the next 5 years. I really do like how most police work is shift work, so I will be able to have a schedule that is always different. If I am able to get my bachelors degree, I know that I will be in a very good position to become a police officer.
9). I am ready to advance into this career, and I believe that I am taking the correct path as of right now. Even though I really want to become a Police Officer now, I could always change my mind and try to do another career.
10). Some of the challenges that may hinder me from becoming a Police Officer is the hatred towards law enforcement. I know that people will judge me for my decisions, even close family and friends. I am okay with this, because becoming a Police Officer is something that I have great interest in, and I know I can be successful in.

Additionally, the company also expects their employees to follow their core values, including honesty, helping others, making the right decisions, reliability, positive attitude, team leadership and more. “When values are out of alignment, people work towards different goals, with different intentions, and with different outcomes. This can damage work relationships, productivity, job satisfaction, and creative potential.”…
