I am an extremely hard worker, and dedicated to everything that I engage in. I enjoy being challenged, constantly look for opportunities to grow professionally and personally, and have risen to all the academic and work related challenges in my life. I have been dreaming about working in health care since my childhood and I will bring that passion to working with my patients. Advances in sequencing the human genome, as well as cancer tumors themselves, have resulted in targeted treatments using the patient’s DNA against cancer cells, such as blood cancers. Identifying genes associated with the development of diseases such as breast cancer, expand option for preventative measures. The more targeted medical treatment becomes, the more treatment options are available for patients, which allows for increased patient choice and participation in determining how they want to respond to their medical situation, present or future. At the same time, these increased technological advances can possibly lead to increased specialization, and a narrowing of focus on the part of the medical practitioners. Sometimes, medical problems are missed because of the lack of a broad scope of view, and often the wishes of the patient are not taken into account. Increasing acceptance of PA’s as part of medical teams is an important corrective to this trend. The team approach allows for practitioners to look at the whole patient, rather than focusing on a single problem
