The first being the biological model. The biological model states that there could be something wrong physically in the brain that is causing such abnormalities. The things that could be wrong vary from the neurons to the synapse, to the cerebrum. An example of this would be eye movement. It is said that “Eye movement dysfunction (EMD) has been reported to be one of the most promising biological markers for schizophrenia” (Clementz). For example, when someone does not do what is expected of the culture they exist in that society will label them and try to bring them back to doing what is expected. Family also plays a big part in this model. Some people can act abnormal due to what their family has taught them. “Family-social theorists are also concerned with the social environments in which people operate, including their social and professional relationships” (Comer, 71).
