‘Foodstuffs’ is one of the biggest grocery distributer in New Zealand. It is a retail business and is owned and operated by Kiwi. Every organization share their own characteristics. There are three characteristics of business organization; Goals, People and Structure.
1. Goals: Setting goals is very important in the business. If there is no goal in the organization the company will never succeed and go in a serious loss. For example, the main objective of the foodstuff is to satisfy their customer by distributing goods and services countrywide in affordable price as preferred by their customers and also giving them the best shopping experience. This goal of the foodstuff will help them gain their profit fast.

2. People: Another important characteristics of ‘Foodstuffs’ is to accomplish their agenda through their people. Manpower is the most important factor for a company like ‘Foodstuffs’ to proceed through their day to day activities. Without the available manpower, organization cannot function properly. Their decisions and efforts in the business decides whether the company will go on profit or loss. ‘Foodstuffs’ in general employees more than 30,000 people

Structure: Likewise, structure of the company also plays a vital role in achieving organizational goal of the company. Foodstuffs mainly consists of two separate, regionally based, retailer owned co-operative companies (North Island and South Island) and a Federation body, Foodstuffs (NZ) Ltd, which is based in Willington. Foodstuffs North Island Limited covers the entire North Island and Foodstuffs South Island Limited covers the entire South Island.
