The Siberian husky look more like the ancestral dog because its appearance is a wolf like with a thick coat, and the Chihuahua is a small breed of dog, or a toy dog. Not only their physical appearances are different, their personalities are also different. The Siberian husky originated from Siberia, the Siberian’s wolf-like looks are athletic, intelligent, and in general the husky needs its owner to be a clear leader (Dogtime, 2016). The test results showed that the husky has a strong favor being in a pack with the total points of 62, due to its active personality, the prey category was total 49 points, similar to the prey category, the fight category is 41 points, and the lowest point total was category is flight, which is 26 points. The Chihuahua is a small dog and it has a smooth, shorthaired coat. The Chihuahua breed is native to Mexico. Unlike the playful and friendly husky, the Chihuahua is a good companion dog because it usually bonds with a single person, and it is alert and suspicious of stranger, which makes the Chihuahua a good watch dog (Dogtime, 2016). Chichi likes to snuggle with her owner the most. By bonding with her owner, she looks up to her owner as the pack leader, the leader establishes dominance and shows guidance her when she is confused or feared. Chichi always alert, for example, she will guard her territory or watch the door when unfamiliar faces come to visit. She always follows the owner around like a shadow and also guards her owner when strangers come to their house or when they are in public space. When in unfamiliar situations, with other people or other dogs, Chichi will run away from it and hides behind the owner. The test was effective because the owners of the dogs also agreed and described their dogs’ personalities similar to what the Canine Personality Profile concluded. From my observations and my experiences with the dogs, the Siberian husky and Chihuahua both have personalities distinct from one another. I believe that the test measured the personality of each dog because dogtime.com, a professional website that provides advices and personality of dogs, described the two types of dogs (Siberian husky and Chihuahua) similar to the Canine Personality Profile test created by Jack and Wendy Volhard (2007). Doing this exercise, I learned that dogs from different breeds have different personality, and perhaps, dogs from the same breed are also different due to their uniqueness in their behaviors. Therefore, I think for people who want to adopt or buy a dog as a pet it is important to get the one whose personality is somewhat similar to your personality. I know that my friend who has the Siberian husky is active and often run around the lake or walk around with her dog more than my friend who has the Chihuahua.
