Heroism is a way of describing of how most heros work and their attributes, along with they are mainly used for people who mainly wear capes and saves people and uses what they have for saving the world in comics and books. Heroism is much more different than just having a cape, just saving others, and pleasing everyone that there is. Although, heroism is much more than that it can just be people who do not give up on their own goals, they are ordinary people who move forward, and they are people who put others before oneself. As such, a hero does not give up on their goals, they try to progress through it, and find a solution. To not give up shows how determined they are to just to help the best that they could. Such as in the story “Soldier home after losing his leg in Afghanistan” in the story it shows how he lost his leg in the middle of war trying to save people who are held and how he tries to get back to normal life. It shows how hard the training was rigorous and how people were like they just gave up on life as a whole. In the article it says “Most of the time when people see my leg, they think I’ve been in a car accident or something. When people do not put others in front of themselves. Those people use it for their own benefits and cares about what they will earn from it not for the person themselves. In Nina Cassian's story called “A Man” it shows how the person in the story lost an arm and cannot do anything as well as he did before but he tries his best to do the same things with his one arm. As said in the text, “I shall reap half a harvest…,and worst of all I shall only be able to half hold my love close to me… From that moment on, he set himself to do everything with twice as much enthusiasm.”(Nina Cassian pg. 64 and 65)This shows how much effort he tries even though he could only be able to do things half as much due to the loss of his hand he tries to do with twice as much enthusiasm.
