I was a young boy when it happened, didn 't think too much about it. One of the hardest events of my life occurred when I was about six years of age. I lived in Cary at the time, along with my younger sister, and my mom and dad. My favorite thing to do at the time was play my gaming system, and go to sporting events with my family. Sometimes we would go to Carolina Tar Heels football games, other times we would just go watch a local soccer game. Life was going great, and then one day my life changed. Things didn 't work out between my parents so they split up and I was living with my mom and sister in the house for a period of time. I think the main trait that I developed is maturity, this process helped me mature as a person because I was faced with a problem in my life that many people don’t ever have to deal with, and some people face it later in life. I had to understand things that were hard for me to understand at such a young age, such as lessons about relationships and why they may not work out. Another character trait I developed is responsibility, I didn’t always have someone watching what I was doing and making sure I was staying out of trouble. My mother had to work a lot so sometimes my sister and I would be home together by ourselves. It was my responsibility and my mother counted on me to stay out of trouble, and often times I would have to look out for my sister and take care of her if she needed anything. Another trait I developed is positivity, I had a positive look on things at most points. Whenever I may have been feeling down or been in a bad mood, I thought to look to the bright side. I often thought to myself that things can only get better, and that is something I still live by today. No matter how much trouble you are going through, things will always get better and life goes

I think I’ve most developed in Altruism, Professional Presence, and Honest and Integrity. Growing up I was always the oldest, so I felt that it was my responsibility to take care of my younger sister and her friends. Over summer vacation my freshman year of college, I received a call from a friend of my sister. She and her boyfriend were at a party and their designated driver had gotten too drunk. Instead of lecturing them on underage drinking I got out of bed, put on some clothes, and went to pick them up.…
