Character Strengths Analysis

My character strengths were consistent with what I would have predicted. I did appreciate that this survey helped me to better understand myself and recognize how some of my personality characteristics were strengths. It was helpful to put words to these strengths and better understand each so I could begin to expand on these strengths and better apply them to my teaching. Alternatively, this exercise helped remind me that everyone has strengths and that I should remind myself to be patient when working on teams or when I am working with my students. I should not get frustrated with someone because they are not performing or acting how I would expect or want because it is likely more about their strengths and weaknesses, and not about them trying to upset me. Spirituality, sense of purpose, and faith were on the top of my strengths list. My beliefs shape my decisions and I have strong beliefs about the higher purpose for my life. I was always the kid, and have turned into the adult who still asks too many questions. Because of this, I was not surprised that curiosity and interest in the world was my second strength. As I engaged in focused self-direction I really did experience gratitude for my strengths. Focusing on how I could used these strengths in the classroom helped me to reaffirm my sensed of purpose in teaching. This cycle helped to inspire and motivate me to finish a tough spring of teaching and going to graduate school. People would comment on my perseverance in finishing this task and how I seemed to self-assured throughout the process. I know this self-assurance came from having purpose and direction in trying to utilize my strengths in a way that helps me to strive to be my best version of myself, allowing me to be a more effective
