The idea that there isn’t usually a lot that separates the villain from the hero is true in Mosquitoland. Mim seems to be rude to people like Kathy for no apparent reason at all. She also stole money, evident from “... she removes a thick wad of bills and counts by Andrew Jacksons to eight hundred eighty dollars” (7).
