Which character is one of the “mockingbird” in the story (pick one) and why?
There are many characters in the novel that are mockingbirds. A character in the story who is a “mockingbird’” is Tom Robinson. I think Tom Robinson’s case is like killing a mockingbird. I believe this because “Mockingbirds don 't do one thing but make music for us to enjoy. They don 't eat up people 's gardens, don 't nest in corncribs, they don 't do one thing but sing their hearts out for us. That 's why it 's a sin to kill a mockingbird” (Lee Harper, 93) like Miss Maudie says. This same quote by Miss Maudie’s would be proved in Tom Robinson’s case because he was like a mockingbird innocent and just adding to life in the village. He didn’t do anything that would prove him as guilty in the world he only tried to help out by doing small jobs. Though when Tom Robinson is caught in the crime the readers can witness the scene of the mockingbird being aimed for killing and the public know that it will be killed. Tom Robinson being a back will be sentenced to Death is a known statement because the jury would run on prejudice and discrimination. Additionally when Tom Robinson is announced guilty and the judge gives him a sentence to death, it relates to the killing of a mockingbird. Firstly, because the man was innocent and then he was sentenced for doing nothing wrong like a mockingbird being killed for singing and sport. Next, he was sentenced to Death which meant that he would be punished for the deed…
