In addition Santiago learns about people’s opportunity to achieve their so called,”Personal Legend” in which he pursues his own Personal Legend embarking from Spain and concluding his journey at the Egyptian Pyramids. Throughout his venture he encounters several people who catechize him about life. As the alchemist practices the belief of Alchemy he correlates the concept of alchemy to life lessons for Santiago to apply in his life such as, all creations are intertwined and from studying one thing and heeding to your heart, he can learn all he needs to know. Love tends to alter one's decisions, since Santiago is on a adventure love is something that can't be affecting his journey. Due to this The alchemist takes it upon himself to educate Santiago about love in such example when Santiago is incapable of making up his mind,“You must understand that love never keeps a man from pursuing his destiny. If he abandons that pursuit, it’s because it wasn’t true love… the love that speaks the Language of the World.” The Alchemist gives wise words toward Santiago remembering his what was his purpose and as well being honest to him about the concept of love. In a earlier scene in the novel he referred about Santiago’s passion for Fatima using a analogy of matter and light,“If what one finds is made of pure matter, it will never spoil. And one can always come back. If what you had found was only a moment of light, like the explosion of a star, you would find nothing on your return.” The man was speaking the language of alchemy. But the boy knew that he was referring to Fatima.” Once again The alchemist is being honest and lecturing Santiago about love. Fatima was getting in the way of his path slowly degrading his personal legend but with this comparison it made it clear for Santiago what he really want was his accomplishment of his personal legend.
