I will answer these two questions based only on what we have seen in class; the four first episodes of season one and the first episode of season two.
The relationship between Jack and Hannibal
The word power is essential in this relationship. Throughout the first four episodes there is a power play between them, there it seems that Hannibal is winning. When first meeting Hannibal, Jack have to wait. Hannibal is the one in charge and decides when Jack can come in. Inside, Jack lays himself flat saying that he is not superior in the presence of someone as skilled as Hannibal, whereas Hannibal then says that he thinks Jack is superior, fuelling Jack’s self-esteem. Not only has Hannibal the pleasure of being recommended by Alana Bloom, whom

That is interesting, but something more is that Hannibal obviously has gotten under Jack’s skin. After the foresight in the beginning, Jack again sits at Hannibal’s table. Hannibal say they mourn the death of a friend, Will. Jack struggling with guilt takes the fault, but Hannibal then says that they are both to blame. Hannibal is again getting the trust of Jack when he says that it is for the best if Jack investigate Hannibal, therefore pushing the suspicion of his back. Jack also trust him to take Will’s place as an investigator. Showing that Hannibal indeed have made his goal manipulating Jack into trusting him and relying on him.
Jack Crawford
Jack Crawford is a special agent from the FBI, head of the behavioural science unit. Jack can be classified as a typical alpha male, used to be the one in charge. He leads his team with a steady hand, always pushing to get the right answers.
As we see him, he is a cold and straightforward person. While other let their emotions take the best of them, Jack questions and are sceptical. This can be seen when we talk about Abigail. The others think of her as a damaged girl who lost her parents and need help. Jack strongly believes that she was an accomplice to her father’s murders, and nothing the others says can convince him

Even though he is advised against letting Will into the field the way he does, Jack knowns that Will can give them answers others cannot. This weight higher than Will’s mental health it seems. On the other side, Jack seeks out Hannibal Lecter to help Will. Hannibal tells Will “You need a way to get out from the dark places Jack sends you.” Clearly, Jack do care enough to get this deal in place, but whether it is from him caring for Will or wishes to use him more, is unclear. When Freddie Lounds posted dirt around Will on her website, you find Jack threatening her and agrees to let her go if she no longer will write about Will. It can be seen as an act of kindness towards Will, but then again it was that article that let the suspect get

In William Golding’s Lord of the Flies, conflict - both internal and external - portrays a major development in the theme and plot of the young boys in this novel. On an island composed of only pre-adolescent boys, it is unquestionable that there would be conflict amongst them. Golding blatantly shows the reader the external conflicts that occur between one another, including both physical and verbal altercations. The author also cryptically gives the reader a display of the conflict the boys struggle with within themselves and their own thoughts. Despite the many instances of external conflict, the subtle internal conflicts are much more critical to the plot and overall theme of Lord of the Flies.…

Jack is a distinct example of the instinct of savagery, desire of power, and violent nature that the boys come to follow. Jack is Ralphs antithesis, or opposite in other words. Immediately, Jack retains the sense of decency and behavior that society has taught him. Susan Gulbin quoted Golding in saying "every man is part savage and that savagery is disguised or concealed only by the wall of civilization built by our ancestors" (Gulbin 87). Jack soon obsesses himself with hunting and devotes himself to the task, painting his face and giving himself over to bloodlust.…

“Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts... perhaps the fear of a loss of power” (Goodreads). John Steinbeck’s quote asserts that people do not get corrupted because of power, they get corrupted because of the fear of the power. In Lord of the Flies by William Golding, Jack does not use his dominance to control the other boys; he instills authority into the boys making them fear him. By doing so, Jack controls the actions of the boys and changes their morals.…

Case Study-Jack • Do you think that Jack’s current unwillingness to become vulnerable to others out of his fear of “being dependent on them and trapped by their love” has much to do with his mother’s unconditional love? When society breaks down, death and destruction incur. In the book The Lord Of The Flies by William Golding the effects of the breakdown of society is a major theme. Humans identities are formed when society’s rules and laws are non existent, and humans are forced to rely off of their own morals. This can be seen when Ralph’s tribe is demolished by Jack because of Jack 's different ideology . In addition, Piggy’s logic and intelligence when talking about advanced topics on the island also show how identity is formed through a lack of societal laws.…

The concern is that the characters of Wild Bill and John do nothing but talk and discuss the situation, slowing the pace down and not offering compelling enough tension. To make the script work, there’s needs to be a complex character that is conflicted about how to rescue Aiken and is conflicted about the idea of the “Hannibal Protocol.” In fact, the idea of the Hannibal Protocol seems to get lost in the storytelling.…
