Going out to a fun party with all of his/her friends seems far more appealing than studying. On the other hand, choosing the other option will have a more positive affect on his/her life. Instead of uselessly partying all night, one should stay home to study for the exam as it will be very beneficial later on. In the novel, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, the main protagonist Katniss Everdeen encounters many scenarios where she chooses the less popular option. In the novel, the society is split into twelve different districts. Katniss, along with her family, are apart of district twelve. This quote greatly reflects on certain individuals who have enlisted in the army. These people are faced with two monumental decisions in life. They can either carry out whatever profession they desire, or they could enlist in the army spending months away from home. For most people, the obvious decision is to stay home with their family, and mostly because they are safe there. Although safety is a great issue, there are still a handful of individuals who would still enlist in the army. The difference this decision made is monumental. Without having all of the brave men and women who serve their country, their nation will become weaker and a larger target for other countries. On the other hand, having a strong army with many individuals can assure civilians in that country safety. In conclusion, this quote greatly affects many characters in novels, and people currently in our
