Character Analysis on Cherry Valence: Academic Essay

The Outsiders written by S.E Hinton continues to be literary influence on the lives of many teens. This novel has been translated in thirty different languages, and many find personal connections with either the plot or the characters. I connected with Cherry while reading this novel. I think she has a great view on life. She tells Ponyboy, “It is rough all over.” By this statement she means that even though she has money, her life is not perfect. Also I like how she see the same sunset on the west as Ponyboy can see on the east part of town.

The character I chose is Cherry Valence from the Outsiders. I admire Cherry’s character traits and hope to emulate them into my life. She is
