“I’ll never let go.” These words came from award winning actress, Kate Winslet, in the film, Titanic. In this film, Kate plays the dynamic character of Rose. Rose shows emotions of happiness, sadness, boldness, vulnerability, and nervousness, which all came together to make Rose’s character a vibrant and essential part of the film. Based on Rose’s choices and how she used her body and voice, she created a vulnerable, impetuous character. According to, dictionary.com, to be impetuous is to act or do quickly and without thought or care. Rose demonstrates impetuousness with her body language and voice in many ways throughout the film. One example of this is when she wanted to take her own life by jumping off the boat. I use the word impetuous

One example is the scene where jack tells her how he feels about her. She says “I cant see you jack.” She tells him that’s its not up to him to save her and that she is going back and to leave her alone while her body language said other wise. Her breathing became rapid as she Jack get close to her. Her shoulders were relaxed on the tan wall behind her while her eyes began to shimmer from the tears forming as she looked at Jack’s lips as they leaned closer to each other. She grabs his hand as its rested and her face, takes a deep breath, and turns away. This made her vulnerable because her actions clearly says that she wanted him, and lettting herself get that close to him puts her a risk for falling deeper in love with him because she is engaged. Another example of her vulnerability was when she posed naked for Jack to draw while engaged to another man. She takes her robe off and laid naked horizonally with her front side open to the screen on the couch. Her breathing was soft, but short. She lifts her arms above her head: they lay rested on the arm rest leaving her breast exposed with her legs laying with one ontop of the other while wearing the most exspensive blue diamond necklas on the boat. Her hair laid widley and she laid still silently. In the film Titanic, Kate winslet nailed the role of Rose because of the way she used her body and voice to ad contrast to the different emotions
