Character Analysis Of Princess Leia In Star Wars

In Star Wars, one of the main characters, Princess Leia, was raised in a royal setting by Senator Bail Organa of Alderaan and his wife. However, throughout her childhood, Leia sensed that she differed from her other family members and that she was missing a connection. Later in the series, it is revealed that Leia has a twin brother, Luke, which she was able to sense through the Force. Both she and her brother inherited the Force from their Jedi father Anakin Skywalker. She later discovers that her mother died after giving birth and her father has morphed into the notorious villain Darth Vader. The causes that correspond with Princess Leia’s symptoms include inherited personality traits, parental influence, and childhood trauma. Certain traits such as excitement seeking are suggested to be hereditary (Fleming, n.d.). It is possible that Leia inherited this trait from her biological father, Darth Vader, who also sought out adventure and excitement. However, as a child, Leia repetitively defied her parental influence and evolved rebellious personality characteristics. Finally, the childhood trauma that Leia endured, the death of her adoptive parents and biological mother, as well as the abandonment of her father, had a significant impact on her life. The Princess’ childhood trauma heightened her desire for adventure as well as her inability to maintain relationships. Princess Leia’s influences are both genetic and adoptive, and have equal affect on her
