Character Analysis Of Molly Harper In The Vietnam War

Everyone changes and everyone can even remain the same when life goes on; Molly Harper has changed a lot throughout the book and she even stayed the same sometimes, so therefore there will be somethings that are different about her and somethings stayed the same. Molly Harper had a huge difference through the story when it came to Georgie. In the beginning she absolutely hated Georgie she couldn't stand him because she had this special garden and no one was allowed to touch it except her and her gardener, Old Eddie, so when Georgie had this rose bush and when he saw her garden and how beautiful it was he wanted to plant it there; when he was told no he went over there anyways and planted it himself and he wound up tearing up the flowers that Molly’s late husband had planted for her. When Molly found out she was furious about it and she couldn't believe what he had done and so she ripped up his rose bush out of the ground and then gave it back and made him take it back to his school where he lived. One day Georgie went back over there begging for him to plant his rose bush in her garden and he …show more content…
When people talk about it or bring the topic up she either completely avoids it or shuts down completely because she still has a lot of sorrow towards the subject. She never opened up about any of it and so she is holding all of her emotions inside and won't let them go because when it first happened she became severely depressed and shut herself out of the whole world and she took Robin, her youngest son, with her and she never went out of the house or ever communicated with anyone. All in all we all have our differences and similarities; some are good differences and some are bad differences, and some are good similarities and some are bad similarities it just all depends on what is going on and how that certain person handles
