Lennie’s favorite thing to think of was being independent, owning there own ranch and having rabbits and puppies. The best decision made was to shoot Lennie and let him leave the world happy and pain free. Lennie’s death leaves George unfulfilled and he understands that the American Dream is a loss of hope without him.
