Gregor goes through a physical transformation, becoming a cockroach. His parents didn’t admire his changes, however it was his sister that respected and fulfilled his needs. Grete was shy and petrified to face “the bug” but she still took care of him. She gave him meals twice a day and made sure he didn’t starve to death. His sister, being dependent on him, made sure that Gregor didn’t feel left out of the human world. She was Gregor’s spoke man when no one understood him. It starts off from Grete having and affection towards her brother to having revulsion and repulsion. Grete would do anything for her brother but this rule didn’t apply when she became a woman. She left little details to be taken care of by themselves. In addition, her relationship with her parents is also a typical “good girl” behavior in the beginning. She listens to them and speaks to them as a normal child would. However, this respect towards her parents submerged towards the end of the story as her independence emerges.
